[Challenge Only] Digitization of manufacturing documentation

Monitor and improve the efficiency of production processes.

Challenge:

The company employs around 4,000 people on various workstations. The described challenge concerns one of the company’s departments. This department has a total of five machines: four CNC machines and one manual machine. Each of them performs different operations.
The challenge for the company will be to eliminate paper technologies and paper guides kept in the workplace, on which each employee confirms the operation with a stamp. For this, we need a system that, after reading the QR code placed on each product, will open technologies and information such as, for example, the dimensions of the part after the previous operation. Each employee, thanks to specially assigned password-protected permissions, could enter the parameters he has performed and comments on a given element, which would also improve the work of the technological section, which, thanks to the analysis of operators’ comments, could streamline the process. The system would also help the management team to monitor the progress of production as well as problems that occur in production. This system would be a big step for our company towards ecological solutions, because it would eliminate the paper that would be needed to print technology and production guides.

Main Requirements:
  • Production flow monitoring,
  • Optimization of production planning and scheduling,
  • Continuous process monitoring (energy use, temperature…),
  • Optimization of maintenance activities based on machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI),
  • Increasing operator safety,
  • Supply chain optimization based on efficiency,
  • Optimization of the number of operators based on efficiency,
  • Optimization of the supply chain based on climatic parameters,
  • Optimization of material flow.
