13th Lean & Agile (LLA) Conference Embraces Industry 4.0 and Beyond

The 13th Lean & Agile (LLA) Conference, held on May 26, 2023, in Rzeszów (Poland), marked a momentous gathering of industry leaders, experts, and practitioners. With a special emphasis on the collaboration with the Planet4 project, the conference celebrated the integration of sustainability into lean thinking and agile methodologies.

The first presentation was given by Carl Hans from the German company OHS Engineering GmbH, who in his speech reviewed the current industry challenges related to the implementation of digitization in industry and modern technologies. These challenges includes:

  • the need to make significant initial investments related to the implementation of digitization,
  • the need to involve external expects with the competences required during the digitalization implementation,
  • the need to modernize the technical infrastructure so that it can be part of the cyber-physical system,
  • reluctance of employees to digitalization,
  • the emergence of new professions and the need to create new jobs,
  • insufficient competences in the field of soft skills among company employees.

The information presented relates to the research carried out as part of the Planet4 project.

Participants at the conference gained insights into real-world case studies, innovative approaches, and best practices that showcased the successful integration of sustainability within lean and agile frameworks. Networking opportunities allowed attendees to establish valuable connections, fostering collaborative efforts toward sustainable development.
